Digilab provides an opportunity to explore various types of cultural data, including both public materials and those protected by copyright. The National Library's general copyright principles and license descriptions are detailed on library's website and in a related document (in Estonian). More information about data requests can be found on the Digilab's data requests page. Below are the most common terms of use for the data.
Public materials
Materials labeled as “Public Domain – https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0/” or those with the Creative Commons (CC) license CC0 are not protected by copyright. The public domain mark indicates that no known copyright restrictions apply to the material. The CC0 license places the material in the public domain; more details about CC0 can be found on the Creative Commons website. Both allow free copying, modification, distribution, and use for scientific or commercial purposes. Attribution to the National Library is encouraged but not required.
